Hey, everyone.
Welcome back to The Collect for Link’s Links. Today is Friday, March 29th (Good Friday). Today we have a special (shorter) edition of Link’s Links centered around the Paschal Triduum. Check it out:
Link’s Links, March 29th
Read: The Bible. I recommend reading all of Isaiah 53, Psalm 22, and the entire book of Lamentations, if you are able. And, of course, the Passion accounts.
Listen/Pray: In the Catholic Church, the synoptic accounts of the Passion are read on Palm Sunday; the Passion according to John is always read on Good Friday. Take twenty-five minutes today and sit and listen to this recording of the Passion, in English, chanted beautifully (the video has an additional portion at the end with the spiritual “Were you there?” which is well-sung, if you want the extra meditation).
DO NOT OPEN UNTIL EASTER: When I was in college, the Catholic guys house would wait until we got home after the Easter Vigil (around midnight or 1 AM) and then blast this song for the whole neighborhood to hear. Then, during the Octave (from Easter until the following Sunday) we would drive around campus with it blasting from our cars. Check it out on Spotify and YouTube (but only after Easter!).
As mentioned this past Monday, I will not be posting anything this upcoming Monday, but will return with Link’s Links on the 5th and a regular post on the 8th.
