Hey, everybody.
Welcome back to The Collect for Link’s Links. Today is Friday, June 28th. Here are some things I found interesting this week, and think you should check out too:
Link’s Links, June 28th
Read: Today’s Saint, Irenaeus, is most well known as the author of Adversus Haereses, or ‘Against Heresies,’ a work written around 180 AD as a refutation mostly of Gnosticism, but also addressing other heresies popular at the time. Today, the entire work is available online, and while I’m not saying you should read all of it (it’s very long) you can check out the table of contents and maybe choose a chapter to peruse using this link.
Listen: You all know by now that I love country music; but my favorite artist of all time is John Denver, who can lean more into the folk side of things. Back in 2023, his estate released his final studio album, titled ‘The Last Recordings,’ which had been recorded shortly before his death but never released, and it features some of his biggest hits reimagined. One of my favorites is ‘Perhaps Love,’ which you can listen to on Spotify or YouTube. Make sure you use these links, because the version from The Last Recordings is different than the others!
Play: Today I learned that the Hallow app has a trivia section, which is wonderful and gives you five daily trivia questions about the Church and the Faith. Go make an account and check it out here.
Pray: Today is the last Friday in June, which means it’s my last chance to push the Sacred Heart in Link’s Links (well, not really, but you get the point). Take some time this weekend to pray with the Litany, which I’ve already linked before, and then check out this Act of Consecration to the Sacred Heart of Jesus using this link.
