Hey, everyone. I pray that you’re all doing well!
Welcome back to The Collect for Link’s Links. Today is Friday, June 14th. Here are some things I found interesting this week, and think you should check out too:
Link’s Links, June 14th
Read: The Man from Snowy River is a 1982 film telling the story of Jim Craig, a horseman from the mountains, and how he makes his fortune and finds love in the lowlands of Australia. It’s a great movie (considered a classic by many) but did you know it’s based on a poem? Go read it here.
Listen: Did you know that John Denver’s final album was entirely songs about trains? It’s called “All Aboard!” and I think it’s wonderful. Go listen to the whole album, or just listen to my favorite song from it, “City of New Orleans” on YouTube or Spotify.
Play: You like board games? I just recently went out to a restaurant that lets you also check out and play board games, which was a great time, and we played Pandemic, which is a great game. Check it out here.
Pray: Today is the feast of Saint Elisha, the successor of Elijah who received a ‘double portion’ of the prophetic spirit of his teacher. Now, among the many things Elisha did as prophet (found throughout the books of Kings), the story of Naaman the Syrian is mentioned specifically in the Gospel of Luke, so I encourage you to go read that passage of 2 Kings here.
